Lauren has enjoyed working with children since she was young. Her mother worked in a Special Day classroom, and in middle school and high school, Lauren would volunteer her extra hours in the classroom, helping the students and teacher build a fun, supportive environment. Lauren went to the University of California, Irvine in 2007 with a scholarship to play water polo and a love for human connection but unsure of a solidified career path. During her senior year, Lauren worked an internship at a program for adults with Traumatic Brain Injuries that supported the adults in different areas of life such as finances, technology, artistic expression, and social skills. Lauren fell in love with the adapted program and knew she wanted to pursue a career in rehabilitation. Lauren attended California State University, Dominguez Hills in 2013 to pursue a Master’s of Art in Occupational Therapy.

After graduating from CSUDH in 2015, Lauren moved to San Luis Obispo and began her career in the Paso Robles Joint Unified School District, supporting students in special education. She and her partner moved back to Los Angeles, where Lauren began work at a pediatric sensory integration clinic. She supported children with neurodevelopmental challenges and gross delays. Lauren went to work for Downey Unified School District in 2018 in the special education department, where she has been ever since. Lauren has felt a strong purpose to help families and clients across their lifespan to feel fulfilled, and empowered, and to succeed in their daily activities. She continues to hold a special place in working with children and their families.
