OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST

Position

We are hiring an OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST for our Dream Team in Huntington Beach, CA! Our multidisciplinary team works with children from 2 years to 8 years old. We are a private agency known for quality work.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Promote independence in activities of daily living (such as dressing and feeding) through implementation of the occupational therapy treatment plan.
  • Conduct formal individual and team assessments.
  • Interpret and summarize assessment results and create accurate reports.
  • Demonstrate evidenced-based clinical reasoning skills to accurately create relevant treatment plans that promote efficient client progress.
  • Collaborate with colleagues for efficient treatment planning and implementation of client programs.
  • Accurately and quickly re-evaluate a client’s needs to determine the extent to which goals and objectives have been met.
  • Collect and maintain relevant data on client goals and progress.
  • Maintain efficient and clear documentation of all client sessions (SOAP notes) and complete all other related forms and documentation (such as updating client treatment plans in an electronic system).
  • Use effective communication skills for working with the Love 2 Learn team, clients, families, and other professionals.
  • Discuss and exchange information about the client’s goals and progress with the occupational therapy assistant(s).
  • Oversee clients’ interdisciplinary early start programs to support and provide guidance to their ABA team.
  • Attend weekly clinical roundtables to coordinate care and collaborate with the early start team.
  • Lead or oversee a weekly group for children (2-6 years old) alongside an SLP/SLPA

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree from an accredited occupational therapy program.
  • Must maintain a current California Occupational Therapy license (OT/L).
  • Holds an occupational therapy certification from NBCOT.
  • Must have a valid BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Current TB test.

PREFERRED EDUCATION 

  • Three years’ experience in pediatric Occupational Therapy practice
  • Experience in Early Intervention
  • Training in Sensory Processing Disorders
  • Training in oral motor development & sensorimotor-based feeding delays
  • Proficiency with parent coaching/training
  • Experience with providing telehealth services
  • ABA Training
  • Bilingual Spanish or Vietnamese

HOURS
Independent Contractor (part-time hours) work available. Hours can vary based on availability and staffing needs. Standard hours of work are Monday through Friday, between 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
