Halloween Made Easy:

Amidst all the Halloween excitement, it’s easy to forget to munch! Keep the fun rolling by making sure both grown-ups and littles have tasty, nutritious meals or snacks to fuel a spooktacular time!

Holidays can get chaotic quickly, especially if schedules aren’t communicated. Write down your ideal timeline from start to finish. It’s okay if things don’t go perfectly, but sharing the plan with all adults and kids helps everyone stay on the same page. This way, the little ones can look forward to each stage of the festivities and time limits can be set in advance.

Costumes, makeup, props, trick-or-treat bags, flashlights, and glow sticks—there’s a lot to coordinate, and details can easily slip through the cracks. Consider doing a test run with full outfits and a route check using a map or visuals. This not only adds to the fun but also provides a chance to teach small skills in a less hectic environment.

Reminders to stop at the end of blocks, look both ways before crossing, stay with adults, avoid entering strangers’ homes, and stick together are essential. Kids with props, flashlights, and glow sticks will also need guidance on the do’s and don’ts of using these fun items.

Some of our learners will practice saying “trick or treat” and “thank you,” while others will greet neighbors, compliment costumes, and participate in games and sharing.
