First and foremost, don’t judge yourself on the struggle. We all have times when it is not easy to access this information as our minds may be overly focused in other areas. Consider welcoming this opportunity to offer yourself, your nervous system and your environment a dose of goodness aka reinforcement.
Secondly, noticing that our culture does not lend itself to sharing and connecting on the goodness as we do on the challenge. With that it may feel uncomfortable to practice this at first or for some time.
Worthiness and shame can come along with celebrating one’s self. These emotions can come up at different times for all of us. If these are present, it is an opportunity to feel them, nurture them, and tend to the parts of ourselves that are resistant to being seen and celebrated!
If you fear coming up short of wins, consider pre-planning a list of your wins, your celebrations, your brags to avoid feeling a freeze moment during your meetings. If you are in multiple meetings in a day, please don’t hesitate to repeat wins.
If you are making a list at the beginning of the week of your wins here are some ways to access what you might want to share. Start with your values-consider what is important for you in general or that week specifically.
Personal: Many of us work to get movement into our lives. We could celebrate calendaring walks, or workouts. We can also celebrate completing those.
Personal: Many of us also value family and friends. You could celebrate how you showed or plan to show up in this area of your life.
Personal: Many value our health- being able to walk, talk, see, hear and taste is often something we don’t think about being grateful for.
